Excellent read - have your tissues handy! I was drawn in by the protagonist Becks slowly but surely as she revealed more of herself. Her very forgivable foibles are easy to relate to and understand. And I liked the other protagonist just as much but for different reasons. As always with this writer, the past is closely related to the present and adds a level of psychological tension. The writing style is excellent and I especially enjoyed the settings and the jargon of the local area. I was quickly involved in the story and I found myself being so scared at one point that I had to put it down and pick it up during daylight hours instead of reading at night as I usually do. I don't want to create a spoiler but there is a level of sadness in this book that I wasn't expecting, but it made sense and was a good fit. Highly recommended.Product details

Have just found this writer and what a talented writer she is! Reading the book was like watching a film - could picture it all and feel the characters emotions. Quite beautiful, was sad for this book to end in more ways than one.
I've never read anything by this author and I wasn't sure I'd like this book but decided to give it a try. And I am glad I did. It was a great story and the characters pulled you in. I really enjoyed the love the two characters share and though the ending saddened me I still loved the book and will read it again. I'd definitely recommend this book.
Great writing doesn't save this from being one of the most depressing books I've read. I wish I could find something positive to say, but nothing is coming to me.
As this story unravelled it tugged at my heart. It was very touching. Such a short time together for such a tight bond. Loved it. One great read.
Well written story with surprisingly different plot twist ending. Very emotional book that pulls at the heart strings and in the end, wonder if love is always worth the pain. Would have loved to sesame different ending, as to appease my heart but perhaps I am biased. Very good braiding of the characters and individual back stories with current lines. Really makes you feel what the writer was conveying.
Warning do not read this book (or at least the last few chapters) without AT LEAST a full-sized box of tissues. It is a poignant, chillingly, heart-breakingly beautiful love story. I very much recommend this excellent book.
This is not your typical romance story with the “happily -ever-after” I prefer, it really tugged at my heart & emotions, but I am glad I did, and I highly recommend it.
It is beautifully written, but I was not prepared for how moved I was when I reached the end even with the unexpected twist that explains the title. It is a tragic love story; I finished it in the very early hours of morning, and then cried myself to sleep.
